Diaspora Coordinator, Kifle Gashe, said the program was held in Hossaina town last night. Prof. Beyene has made a significant contribution to education, research and community service in the country. He expressed his desire to be recognized and rewarded, especially as one of the people who brought about peaceful and democratic change through peaceful political struggle. Diasporas of the zone were presented with a 2020 model Hyhundai car purchased for more than 3.2 million birr.
Receiving the award, Prof. Beyenepetros, on his part, said he has been able to become a lecturer at Haile Selassie I University despite the challenges he has faced since he was a child.





He said they have been working hard since the fall of the Derg to create a peaceful and democratic political environment.
He said the recognition and awards given to him are a great responsibility and they will work hard to fulfill their national duty. Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Dr. Ergoge Tesfaye, who was present at the program, said, "As a nation, Prof. Beyene deserves recognition and award for his contribution in various fields." "He is a hero who has fought against the TPLF thugs who have been inflicting heavy casualties on the people for the past twenty-seven years," he said. He also said that he is a determined son who puts the freedom of the people before the interests and power. He said it is the responsibility of the generation to continue the example of the professor by doing good for the people.





Prof. Beyene has been working as the Deputy General Manager of the Institute for Policy Studies since Pagume 4, 2012 EC.
