The construction of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam has reached 78.3, the Ministry of Water, Irrigation and Energy said.

The Minister of Water, Irrigation and Energy, Dr. Sileshi Bekele, on his part said the ministry has carried out activities over the past six months and the construction process of the dam is underway. The civil construction of the dam has reached 91 percent.
He said the total construction of the dam has reached 78.3 percent.

He said work will be done to achieve the second round of water filling in the coming months. Engineer Sileshi said the dam is of great benefit to the riparian countries. "The construction of the dam has increased by 4.5 percent from June," ENA reported.
