Election Board holds awareness raising forum for indigenous civil society organizations licensed to observe the 6th General Election





The National Electoral Board of Ethiopia (NEBE) held an awareness raising forum for indigenous civil society organizations licensed to observe the 6th General Election on March 30, 2013.





The forum opened with a speech by Fikre Gebrehiwot, the member of board's leader. The working sections of the Board provided an overview of the election process according to their work characteristics.






In addition, a local and international election observation expert was briefed on the draft election observation and support framework.





There was also an explanation for the reporting of election-related conflicts during the election by an expert on conflict prevention.
Following the explanations, a number of questions were answered by the participants, and finally, the participating civil society organizations were given licenses.






In his closing remarks, the Board's leadership, Fikre Gebrehiwot, urged the institutions to participate in the election process in accordance with the proclamation, regulations and guidelines.
