Eritrea Introduces Health Units to Every School
Over 600,000 children are going back to school as well as the resumption of public transport after the easing of the lockdown in Eritrea.
For precaution reason, the government has set up a health unit in every school, the first of its kind in the world to prevent the spread of the deadly COVID 19.
All schools have also made a contingency plan in place for outbreaks in their school.
Some of the contingency plan are: adaptations to the classroom to support distancing where possible, including seating pupils in single desks and facing forwards, rather than side-on (pictured) as well as moving unnecessary furniture out of the classroom to make more space.
Schools and all public transport in Eritrea had stopped services a year ago on 27 March 2020.
Eritrea was one of the first African countries to act fast and decisively to tackle COVID 19 and has lost only nine people to date.
The total number of confirmed cases in the country to-date is 3208, mainly arrivals from neighboring countries.
