The Addis Ababa City Administration has allocated 2 million birr to rename Ayat Square to Commander Athlete Derartu Tulu

A national recognition and appreciation program was held for Commander Athlete Derartu Tulu.

According to Adanech Abebe, Deputy Mayor of the Accreditation Program, Derartu Tulu has decided to name Ayat Square after the city administration for its contribution to promoting Ethiopia in the international arena and 2 million birr has been allocated for the development of the square.

Athlete Derartu Tulu, who raised the Ethiopian flag at the Olympics and other competitions this evening, was presented with the National Gold Medal of Honor at the National Recognition and Recognition Program.
Oromia Regional State President Shimeles Abdissa also donated 350 grams of gold Nisha and 2021 Model Lexus V8 cars.

On the other hand, Oromia Regional State President Shimels Abdissa named the Sululta Academy, which was built at a cost of one billion birr, as the largest square in Adama by Commander Athlete Derartu Tulu.

Deputy Mayor Adanech Abebe, Oromia Regional State President Shimeles Abdissa, senior federal and regional government officials, organizers, athletics federation officials, artists and other invited guests were present at the recognition and appreciation program.
