Five suspected members of a family have been killed in a heavy TPLF attack in Debre Tabor
Two people were seriously injured in the attack and an unknown amount property was reportedly destroyed.
Among those killed there was a child.
TPLF has killed five people in an armed attack in Debre Tabor town, according to the city's first mayor, Wonde Meseret.
The attack killed three women and two men from the same family, including a child.
The prime minister said two heavy weapons were used in the attack, injuring two people and destroying property, including an individual's home.
Following the withdrawal of the Defense Forces from Mekelle, the TPLF returned to Mekelle and carried out attacks in various parts of Amhara and Afar regions in defiance of the government's ceasefire.
During his various campaigns, he entered the Amhara region and took control of some areas of North Wollo and South Gondar.
Many were killed and more than 500,000 were displaced. Following this, the Amhara region is launching a campaign to mobilize all its potential. The federal government has announced that the ceasefire will not be observed and war is being waged.
"The main purpose of the TPLF is to weaken this region. It has been doing this for a long time," said Brigadier General Tefera Mamo, commander-in-chief of the Amhara Special Forces.
