Volta region’s Setor wins Most Eloquent on One Africa night Representing Ethiopia
Last night, Volta Region’s Setor representing Ethiopia stunned the judges and audience with her oratory skills. She won the Most Eloquent award of the night for her passionate parliamentary of the second most populated country in Africa.
“We are one Africa, and our cultures unite us as one people. Like the Ethiopian kebero drum, I came in playing the Ghanaian dondo to represent the unity in Africa. We can never talk about unity without talking about Ethiopia. Welcome to Addis Ababa, the home of the African Union and the capital town of Ethiopia.
“Two great men, Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah and Emperor Haile Selassie were very instrumental in the formation of the organization of African unity now known as the African Union. These two understood that together we stand, divided we fall. May the souls of these great pan Africans go marching on!”
Setor spoke about their tourist sites including, the Simien National park, the ruins of Aksum and the Tiya. She also revealed that Ethiopia is the only African country that has never been colonized by the West. And how the Italians failed in their attempt to colonize the people. Ethiopia has a 13-month calendar system, 80 languages with 200 dialects, and the heart of the Rastafarian movement.
